Changelog: Updates, Evolution and New Features

v0.0.24 : International organizations and nuclear programs

May 2026

Features

  • Integration of nuclear weapons programs for nuclear-armed states: the historical timeline automatically adjusts each program's progress to the chosen simulation start date.
  • Added international organizations (UN, NATO, European Union, etc.) as a new entity type, with a timeline for accessions, suspensions, and withdrawals, integration into the search engine, and quick access to member countries for the player and AI agents.

Improvements

  • AI agents can now consult the simulation's historical timeline to retrieve the context of a country, person, or organization.
  • Balancing of the standard AI decision system and improved reasoning quality for agents using language models.
  • The historical timeline now computes the evolution of indicators (GDP, territory populations, etc.) so that their history is available from the first day of the simulation.
  • Historical timeline events can now be defined for multiple entities simultaneously, making modders' work easier when several actors share the same history.
  • Updated documentation for modders: indicators, historical timeline, and entity definitions (countries, persons, organizations, etc.).

Data

  • Complete migration of historical data to the new historical timeline system.
  • Integration of historical membership timelines for the European Union, NATO, the UN (partially), the CSTO, ASEAN, and the BRICS.
  • Updated historical data on leaders in Europe and Asia.
  • Nuclear program timeline texts now include key historical figures, scientists, and political leaders associated with these programs.

v0.0.23 : Unified historical timeline and modding extension

April 2026

Features

  • The unified historical timeline centralizes world data and replays the past up to the chosen start date, rebuilding a coherent initial state for the simulation by combining ancient and contemporary events.
  • Depending on the configured historical mode, some entries from this timeline can still trigger during the game when their conditions are met.
  • Historical events linked to an entity can be viewed from its interface, along with an overview of the major steps in the simulated history.
  • A new notification system centralizes important alerts (vacant positions, approaching cyclone, upcoming election, etc.) in a shared stream for the player and AI agents, with icons on the entities concerned.
  • Modders can now define starting scenarios directly inside their mods by choosing the simulation's start date and historical context.

Data

  • The main historical datasets have been migrated to the new unified timeline system: time series for demographic and economic indicators, changes in people's political orientation, trajectories of tropical cyclones, successions of heads of state and government, and political system reforms. This data is stored in files that modders can easily edit.
  • Data related to natural disasters is now grouped into a dedicated mod, optional and easy to extend.
  • Added historical records for tropical cyclones, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions in 2025.
  • Enriched definitions of political systems for most countries and their evolution throughout the 21st century.

User Interface

  • At application startup and when creating a new simulation, loading now shows clear steps, from data preparation to history replay, with progress that accurately reflects what is happening.
  • Ephemeral messages now appear as events unfold during the simulation, quickly highlighting what is happening in the world.
  • The interface is responsive: when the window is sized to a vertical format, a compact layout appears automatically to make it easier to capture content for social media.
  • The interface now displays the history of political roles: for a country, the list of its successive leaders; for a person, the different positions and offices held over time.
  • The integrated development console, used to run advanced commands on the engine, now opens in full-screen for more comfortable reading.

v0.0.22 : Events, action refactoring and autonomous agents

February 2026

Features

  • Message system reworked into events: each event is linked to the entities involved, accessible from their panel, and viewable in a global dashboard with an « important » filter and search by entity or period.
  • Event texts can now mention simulation entities, displayed as links to their detail pages.
  • AI can now handle the full project lifecycle (create, join, leave, pause, resume, cancel) and resolve interactive simulation events on its own.
  • AI decision engine debug tool: for each entity, view of considered decisions, their analysis and alternatives ranked by score.
  • Enriched action selection interface: context visualization, initiator role selection, and ability to directly target a country as a citizen.

Improvements

  • Time progression is now calculated at the end of each day, after all ticks and AI actions have been processed.
  • Action type refactoring: cases are now explicit (citizen → leader, leader → country, leader → leader, etc.), paving the way for citizen-side actions and direct country targeting.
  • AI agent robustness improvements and various bug fixes.

v0.0.21 : Hybrid AI architecture, language models and agents

January 2026

Features

  • Hybrid AI system: leaders can now be controlled either by a standard mode or by a language-model-based mode, depending on the desired level of immersion.
  • New shared Utility System: legacy decision trees are replaced by a system that computes a score for each possible action by combining multiple criteria (political context, risks, institutional opportunities, etc.).
  • The standard AI mode uses this Utility System to analyze a large number of possible actions and deterministically select those with the best scores, suited to long historical simulations.
  • The language-model mode reuses the Utility System results: it focuses on the most relevant actions and turns them into decisions and explanations in natural language.
  • Conversational assistant: guides user in discovering and using the application, remains available anywhere in the interface, and can assist during gameplay thanks to full access to simulation data.
  • New AI agent system: the agentic system manages task execution and shows task status in the interface.
  • The AI Journalist uses simulation events to produce articles and summaries presented as an in-game newspaper.

Improvements

  • Glassmorphism interface: dialogs and popovers adopt a modern effect for better readability and a more elegant appearance.
  • Political system display: information on political systems, leader successions, and elections is now clearer and accessible via tooltips or character roles.
  • Globe label visibility: improved label readability with dynamic management of distance and altitude.
  • Relations system between leaders: display and automatic analysis of family links, political relations, and opinions for immediate understanding of power dynamics.
