What is Terra Engine?

Terra Engine is a geopolitical strategy sandbox where you play as a leader (or remain a spectator) in a living world, shaped by a historical timeline and factual data.

Around you, politics, economics, and diplomacy unfold alongside events and disasters, while issues and crises structure international tensions. Other leaders are driven by AI; language models remain optional for a more immersive experience.

Geopolitical simulator features

Geopolitical data and historical timeline

Countries, territories, figures, organizations: over 8,000 entities, 9,000 time series and 2,000 events, structured in a timeline that links the 20th century to the contemporary world.

Historical mode

Historical mode controls how the simulator follows real-world trajectories: indicator convergence and major developments according to the chosen fidelity level; when turned off, it opens the door to alternate history and custom scenarios.

Detailed political simulation

Manage different regimes, elections, successions, and power dynamics. Each country has its own evolving political system with institutional capabilities.

Macro-economy

Macro-economic system simulating GDP, unemployment, debt and other indicators evolution. Each country evolves according to its category and economic state, with a configurable historical mode.

Diplomacy and international relations

Develop international relations, influence opinion, and conduct various diplomatic actions between countries and leaders.

Geopolitical issues and crises

Follow the world's major dossiers (territory, nuclear, influence) and manage their crisis phases: take a position, escalate or ease tensions, and leave a lasting footprint on international relations.

Interactive event system

Make key decisions through multiple-choice events and conditional triggers that shape history.

Natural disaster simulation

Historical natural disasters: earthquakes, cyclones, volcanoes. Damage per hexagonal cell (devastation, casualties) and visualization of phenomena.

Hybrid AI architecture

Two complementary modes for controlling leaders: standard mode for fast decisions, language model mode for narrative immersion with unique personalities and realistic behaviors.

Autonomous intelligent agents

Each character acts autonomously thanks to AI: realistic behavior, contextual decisions and reactions to diplomatic, political, and global events.

Intelligent AI tools

Conversational assistant to discover and use the application, and AI Journalist generating interactive news.

Modding and multilingual customization

Extend and evolve the experience: mods, languages, events, properties, and scenarios. Terra Engine is built as a modular platform, already available in French and English.
